If you want to keep your car shining like it just left the lot regular cleaning and waxing are essential. Here are a few tips for keeping your ride in tip-top shape.

1) Choose a cool, shady spot. If the surface is too hot, or the sun shining on the car is too hot your soap suds can dry before you can rinse them off. If the glass is too hot, the cold water from a garden hose may crack it.

2) Pre rinse before scrubbing. If there is sand, mud or any other kind of abrasive stuck to your car rinse it off or it may scratch your paint when you scrub.

3) Use a mild, PH neutral soap, such as Born to be Mild by Dodo Juice. Too much or too little acid can damage paint or remove wax. If the soap is too harsh it will dull the wax.

4) Use a soft cloth, mitt or sponge. Never old rags that may have grease, paint, caulking or anything else that might transfer to your paint.
